About the artist
Bertalan Soós is among other things the founding member of the Budapest Street Photography Collective, a freelance photographer. He is best known for his urban and lifestyle images, participating in various artistic collaborations and exhibitions.
What inspired the photo series
Many of us are familiar with the sight when the rising or setting sun illuminates streets straight on. The sharp contrasts, reddish-yellow warm lights, and the intimate world of motorists provided the basis for creating the images.
The completed photo series
The photos are completely spontaneous snapshots. Close-up, selected portraits with eyes covered by the shade of the sunshade, thus preserving the subjects' discretion.
About the exhibited photos
More than 50 images from the photo series were included in the exhibition. They were uniformly framed in small (360 * 240 mm) and large (750 * 500 mm) sizes, ready for hanging, arranged in pairs, and in layouts of 5 and 8.
Engaging viewers of the exhibition and enhancing the experience
The interactive part of the exhibition – a driver's cabin illuminated with a spotlight – reproduces the circumstances, allowing visitors to create their own motorists' portraits following the exhibition's images.
