Telephoto Street Portrait
This series was shot in Budapest around Fővám Square with model Sophia Schuck and makeup artist Tícia Megulesz.
The idea was simple: I was curious to see what happens when, instead of the usual portrait lenses, I bring out the big guns — long telephoto lenses — for a street portrait session. Alongside the trusted NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S, the NIKKOR Z 400mm f/4.5 and NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 lenses played the main role on the Nikon Z8 body.
It’s fascinating to see how such long focal lengths reshape the city in images. Sometimes they compress space dramatically, other times they blur the environment almost completely, creating a clean, minimalist visual field. Even well-known, frequently photographed Budapest locations reveal new perspectives when seen through these optics.
This is not a rigid, posed fashion shoot, but rather a freer urban editorial experiment. The goal was to create unusual views and compositions in familiar city surroundings, using extreme focal lengths and perspectives to reveal something unexpected.
