LG ULTRAWIDE™ QHD IPS HDR TAPASZTALATOK

Budapest, Hungary / 2021

Last December, LG approached me with a superb ultra-wide monitor that I should try out and promote on my own platforms.

Since one monitor was never enough, and I never really fit into a single traditional display, I seized the opportunity, so I've had the LG UltraWide™ QHD IPS HDR ergonomic monitor with me for almost a year now.

Setting it up would have been a really quick and easy task if my desk hadn't been attached to the wall, but with a little ingenuity, I managed to slide the bracket between the table and the wall, and within minutes, I could check out my latest photos.

For a photographer or graphic designer, color accuracy is essential, which can be fine-tuned to perfection with various calibration tools. So, my first step was to consult one of the most knowledgeable friends on the subject here at home, who also calibrated my previous monitors. Unfortunately, due to the COVID situation, this was delayed for months. In the meantime, I primarily used it as a second monitor for emailing, watching movies, and playing games. I really enjoyed being able to create a standing workstation with it thanks to the universal bracket, and I couldn't wait to finally use it live for post-processing photos. During this time, I realized that the gaming experience with such a wide screen almost draws you into the virtual environment like a VR headset; I completely lost myself in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

The UltraWide accurately reproduces the sRGB color space I use, so I can be sure that my photos appear true to life with vibrant colors in print and on any other calibrated monitor.

Image processing software fits perfectly on the wide screen without any of their windows or panels obstructing even a millimeter of the image, and other programs can visibly run alongside it, so I didn't need to glance at another monitor when I was watching YouTube next to some more monotonous imagery. 🙂

For me, the main advantage of the LG UltraWide is its shape and size, as well as the easy movement thanks to the mounting bracket. With one movement, I can switch between a sitting and standing workstation, which supposedly is much healthier!

Over the past year, I've grown very attached to the monitor, and I couldn't imagine anything else in its place, so I insisted on keeping it!
